Driving the Zero Hunger Coalition

A Coalition of partners to end hunger

The Shamba Centre and the Global Alliance for Food and Nutrition (GAIN) work with the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), World Food Programme (WFP), and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) to drive the Zero Hunger Coalition and expand its scope and influence.

The Zero Hunger Coalition brings together 32 governments, plus the African Union Commission (AUC) and the European Commission (EC), 24 civil society organisations, and 11 international organisations to coordinate action and secure investment internationally to achieve zero hunger by 2030. It focuses on developing and implementing evidence-based and costed roadmaps to end hunger nutritiously and sustainably.

Strong political support

The Zero Hunger Coalition has received political buy-in at the highest levels. It has been endorsement by the G7 in several of its communiques, including the G7 Development Ministers Communiqué and in the G7 Leaders Declaration on Global Food Security. The G7 accounts for around 80 percent of official development assistance (ODA).
