What we want.
Our vision is a world without hunger achieved through policies and business models that reward innovation, are nature- and climate-positive and empower small- and medium-sized farmers, traders and producers, and women across the food system.
We take a systems approach and advocate for interconnected solutions to complex problems.
In October 2022, we set up the Shamba Centre for Food & Climate to end hunger, to find systemic ways to make food systems more sustainable and provide a voice and space for vulnerable communities in decision-making forums.
Together, with our combined experience of over 40 years as experts in agriculture and food systems, sustainable infrastructure, nature-based solutions, climate change and gender equality, we will disrupt the food system to end hunger.

Achievements & Outlook 2024 - 2025
Our three proudest achievements in the second year were advancing the idea of blended finance in the food systems community, working with CCRED to support African competition regulators build fair and efficient food markets, and securing new leadership to drive the actions of the Zero Hunger Coalition and Private Sector Pledge.

Achievements & Strategic Plan 2023-2024
In October 2022, during the worst food security crisis in decades, we launched the Shamba Centre with the aim of ending hunger forever. Having now been in operation for six months, we are providing an update on our key achievements to date and our strategic plan for 2023 and 2024.

Ending hunger is possible; and we are setting out to do it
We set up the Shamba Centre to end hunger forever. We will work to disrupt the status quo of food systems to make way for experimentation, innovation and bold policies that will reduce market concentration, diversify production, improve distribution, optimise yields, use less land and cause far less environmental damage.
