Arthur Khomotso Mahuma

Arthur Khomotso Mahuma is an Economist and Researcher at the Centre for Competition, Regulation and Economic Development (CCRED) at the University of Johannesburg, and supports the Shamba Centre's work on competition.
Arthur has 10 years of experience in competition economics across a range of sectors, including telecommunications, food and agro-processing, energy, and digital platforms. He was previously a Senior Economist at the Competition Commission of South Africa, where he undertook investigations and economic analyses in merger cases, abuse of dominance and cartel cases. He has conducted impact assessments and market studies and provided economic input into cases presented at the Competition Tribunal of South Africa.
Arthur holds a Bachelor of Commerce with a degree in Economics from the University of Pretoria. He also holds a Bachelor of Commerce Honours in Trade and Development from the University of Johannesburg and a Master of Commerce in Development Economics from the same institution.
