The Agrifood Anti-Monopoly Tracker provides information on competition issues affecting agrifood markets in Africa. It includes merger notifications, cases of anti-competitive behaviour and market research undertaken by competition authorities. Note that it is based only on information made publicly available by competition authorities.

To date, 98 competition issues have been reviewed. However, ongoing research by the Shamba Centre and the University of Johannesburg’s Centre for Competition, Regulation and Economic Development (CCRED) suggests that this is likely only the tip of the iceberg and many more competition issues exist but remain undetected and unreported.
